What is the most important advice you would give students?
Try things outside of your comfort zone! Iowa State is the perfect place to try out new hobbies, join an organization you've always been interested in, and meet people from all walks of life.
Why should students take advantage of the Academic Success Center?
It's impossible to be a successful student without knowing the right study habits and learning techniques. Many students can get by in high school without studying, but college is a whole different ball game. The ASC can help you learn the study skills you may have missed in high school, and give you the tools to manage your schedule between going to class, work, and spending time with friends!
Where is your favorite place on campus to study?
I like sitting on the third floor of the library, especially at the desks by the windows.
Other random facts to share?
There is a class offered at Iowa State where you can learn to play the carillon (the bells inside of the Campanile). You can hear recitals from students taking the class on central campus, and students in the class can even reserve a time for themselves in the Campanile and take people inside!
